THOMMO'S VIEWS

Mr Thomson has a view about everything from world issues to family values. He is a very fair and considerate awesome principal, but on these subjects he is most passionate:

Uniforms, Swearing, Bullying, Litter and School Upkeep, Homework, Manners, Mobile phones, My Space (internet), Emos

UNIFORMS

Mr Thomson has all the teachers on the lookout for students not in correct uniform or wearing jewellery. In particular, he has enlisted Mr Gutsohn to prowl the schoolyard looking for victims. He believes that self-respect is partly how you show yourself.

SWEARING

Swearing in Mr Thomson's viewpoint is gutter language. Many classroom lectures are given where he emphasises his dislike. 'Swearing is becoming used every day in the modern society and it is bringing humanity down!'

BULLYING

Bullies are wimps. They pick on others-usually smaller than themselves- to relieve themselves of their problems, taking it out on others. This should never be an excuse for appalling behaviour.

LITTER AND SCHOOL UPKEEP

Mr Thomson says that litter is a sign of disrespect. If people who litter can't be bothered to clean up after the area they themselves are using what would they do to other peoples homes if they can't even respect themselves?

HOMEWORK

Homework at Kimberley is half an hour reading and half hour writing, not much considering other private schools. Kimberley has this policy to ensure that the English skills of the students are at an outstanding level.

MANNERS

Every self-respecting person believes that others should also be treated with respect. Manners are important in society. Unfortunately, lack of manners has become the norm and it's deemed acceptable. At Kimberley it will NEVER be acceptable.

MOBILE PHONES

"Save your mobile phone bills. Get your phone confiscated!"
Mr Thomson visits many classrooms and gives a great performance that sends mobile phones up for what they are. Mobile phones are only welcome at the school if brought to the front office for the day and collected in the afternoon. Thomo believes that mobile phones stop proper communication.

MY SPACE (INTERNET)

It is an evil system that allows spineless people to spread rumour and entices young people to carry out wrong things.

EMOS

Self-depressed people of the emo movement enjoy self-pity. Mr Thomson does not think this is good enough behaviour, his reply to that is 'Get a life'. Kimberley College is a 'Waffo' school which strongly believes that 'real' cool people do not live for the peer group. They have the courage to be themselves.
